Newmom Thoughts

Vegas Bound - New Mom Thoughts.jpg

Road trips that allow for scenic stops are my favorite kind. But don’t let the photo fool you, I was a mess!

This photo was from a Vegas bound trip 3 years ago. We were heading to introduce G to my Dad’s side of the family. He was only 6mo old and I was a nervous wreck constantly checking in on his rear-facing car seat.

Newmom thoughts: Where’s the closest place to stop and breastfeed? Was that a fart or is he sitting in shit RN? Will this 4hr car drive trigger sleep regression? But IS HE BREATHING?!

Looking back, the trip was a perfect mix of anxiety & excitement, and finally some peace once MY dad held MY son for the first time.

Just a reminder to you mamas out there possibly going down the same road: all of it, all of this, is so worth it.

So please, opt for the scenic route when you can. Don’t be afraid to pause; and revel in the beauty of your growth as a human, woman, and mother. Cause you, my dear, are a true wonder of nature yourself.
